Of the children, Shiloh seemed to attract the most attention initially, because she was the firstborn child of Pitt and Jolie. It was clear from the start that Shiloh lived life on her terms and was not going to let societal norms determine what she would look like or how she was going to behave. As such, for several years, Shiloh decided to dress more masculine. A move that both Jolie and Pitt supported, letting Shiloh express herself by whatever means made her comfortable.
It was not until Shiloh hit puberty that she decided to dress more femininely and grow her hair out. A reveal of sorts occurred in 2021 when Shiloh walked the red carpet with Jolie during the Eternals movie promotional tour. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a 2008 movie about a man (Benjamin Button, played in part by Pitt) who ages backwards. The script called for a baby to play Julia Ormond’s character, Caroline as a baby. Twins were hired for this role. But, because they were uncomfortable on set, the scene where they were required was not able to be shot.
It happened that Shiloh was on set. Because of this, she replaced the twins and played Caroline as a baby. While she did not receive a credit in the film, it was the first acting role that Shiloh was able to put on her resume. One that has received several other credits over the years.
